Floods, 5m waves as La Nina event worsens
A major storm over northern NSW and southeast Queensland is set to worsen on Sunday, as authorities warn of 5m waves, flash flooding and dangerous winds.
About 440mm of rain fell over the Gold Coast on Saturday, and up to 200mm is forecasted to fall on the Mid North Coast and over Queensland.
The Bureau of Meteorology predicts the storm will peak on Sunday evening, going into Monday morning – though dangerous weather is expected to continue up until Tuesday, as the rain pushes river levels up – which could cause more flash…
