Uber Elevate sale set to put plans for 1000 Melbourne flying taxis on ice – Sydney Morning Herald
Uber’s sale of its aviation division has raised questions about its plans for up to 1000 commercial flying taxis in Melbourne from 2023.

Katie Pribyl, spokesperson for Joby, said the startup was still on track to launch flying taxis in 2023 but could not say whether Melbourne would be involved.
“We haven’t confirmed either launch markets or scale of service at this point,” she said. “As far as Melbourne is concerned, we’re excited to maintain the dialogue that was established under the Uber Elevate platform as we integrate that team’s perspectives into our own go-to-market strategy.”
