Local councils failing to keep staff safe from sexual harassment, Victoria’s auditor-general says
A damning new report into Victoria’s local councils has found more than a quarter of workers experience sexual harassment on the job, and their employers are failing to do enough to stamp out the behaviour.

- Nearly half of LGBT workers and 40 per cent of women under 34 reported being sexually harassed

An investigation by the state’s auditor-general has revealed 28 per cent of workers in the local government sector have dealt with sexual harassment over the last year. Ten per cent mentioned it to their manager, but just 2 per cent made a formal complaint.
