Delays for days amid emergency work on Fortitude Valley intersection

Police have warned commuters to change plans or expect significant delays around Fortitude Valley and beyond for days as Energex does emergency works at a major intersection.
A fault in an underground cable was detected by the state-owned energy supplier on Wednesday morning, forcing crews into action near the intersection of James and Ann streets and backing up traffic throughout the area.
An Energex spokesman said work on the 110,000-volt cable, which runs from Victoria Park to Newstead, would take three to six days, with crews “working around the clock”.Credit:Energex
