Christmas traditions like a photo with Santa have dramatically changed thanks to COVID-19
Five-year-old Imogen and her elder sister Sophia say meeting Santa Claus this year “felt really strange”.
The younger sibling complained she wanted to hug him, “because he’s normally, like, soft”.
But because of COVID-19 rules they instead sit on boxes about 1.5 metres away from him for a socially distanced photoshoot.
The venue photographer had taken about 10 paces back so everyone can fit in the frame. Christmas cards in 2020 are going to look very different.
Before coronavirus, Santa at the Sydney Queen Victoria Building (QVB) had children climb onto his lap, pull his beard and whisper what they wanted for Christmas into his ear.
