‘No regrets’ over Sizzler axing as Collins Foods sales jump on KFC boom – Sydney Morning Herald
Collins Food says coronavirus was the final nail in the coffin for Sizzler, but the fast-food giant sees revenue surge from booming KFC sales.
“There’s plenty of sadness, we love Sizzler and we’re incredibly proud of our team. But regret? I would say no. We put every effort into seeing if we could continue to operate Sizzler through COVID,” he said. “But it was a decision that the time had come.”
Total revenue across Collins rose 11.3 per cent compared to the prior corresponding period to $499.6 million, driven primarily by the company’s 242 Australian KFC stores, which grew their sales by 15.6 per cent to $415 million.
