Jack de Belin rape trial jury discharged after failing to reach verdict
The jury in the rape trial of NRL star Jack de Belin has told the court it has been unable to reach a verdict and the judge has directed they be discharged.

- After 10 hours of deliberations, the jury told the court it could not reach a unanimous or majority verdict
- Judge Haesler says the fact they could not reach a unanimous verdict happened in about one in 100 juries
- The judge says bail for the two men will continue and he will direct another trial to proceed as soon as possible
Both Mr de Belin and his co-accused, junior rugby league player Callan Sinclair, pleaded not guilty to five charges of aggravated sexual assault, including one of inflicting actual bodily harm.
