Eyre Peninsula reporter Brooke Neindorf reflects on being part of ABC Rural, now in its 75th year
My first assignment at university in 2007 involved pulling a piece of paper from a hat to decide what topic we would write our first story on.
I had my fingers crossed for sport, but pulled out RURAL.
What did that mean?
I was from the country, having grown up on South Australia’s Eyre Peninsula — would I have to do a story about sheep?
Perhaps it was fate. I wrote a story about lupinosis — a disease in sheep that farmers often have to deal with — and today I’m part of ABC Rural.
It’s a terrific job with one of the ABC’s best teams.
