Federal Government’s environment law reforms set to be blocked by Senate after crossbench sides with Labor
The Federal Government’s bid to overhaul national environmental laws looks set to be voted down in the Senate, with three crossbench senators joining Labor and the Greens to recommend the bill not be passed.

The Coalition has sought to strip “green tape” from environmental approvals as far back as Tony Abbott’s time as prime minister, by allowing states the power to approve developments under federal environment law.
