Monika Chetty’s son sat through a harrowing inquest in the hope of finding answers to her puzzling case
It’s been the toughest week of Daniel Chetty’s life.
For the past five days, the 22-year-old has been quietly sitting inside the NSW State Coroner’s Court listening to harrowing testimony about the final weeks leading up his mother’s death.

Daniel was only 15 when two police officers found his mother — Monika Chetty — in bushland in West Hoxton with acid burns to 80 per cent of her body.
She was taken to Concord Hospital but died a month later.
Police still don’t know who cruelly attacked her or why.
“Mum’s passing was a big thing but finding out the backstory of what happened is more intense,” he told the ABC outside court.
