Qld man charged with planning a terror attack

A regional Queensland man has been charged with preparing for a terror attack in the region and now faces life behind bars if convicted.
The 29-year-old Bundaberg man was arrested on Friday and charged with one count of carrying out acts done in preparation for, or planning, terrorist acts.
Police allege he had electronic documents “indicating a desire to undertake acts of violent extremism” in the Bundaberg region.
He is expected to face Brisbane Magistrates Court on Saturday.
The Australian Federal Police and Queensland Police allege the man was planning to “undertake a terrorist act in the Bundaberg region and had sought firearms training.”
