Insurer Youi took 22 months to settle storm damage claim, showed no ‘decency and fairness’

Insurance company Youi did not show decency and fairness when it took almost two years to settle a claim from a Broken Hill resident for severe hailstorm damage.The November 2016 storm was labelled a catastrophe by the Insurance Council of Australia after it inflicted about $597 million worth of losses across parts of NSW, Victoria and South Australia, prompting more than 52,300 claims.
