Gen Z are easy Black Friday scam prey
Black Friday and Cyber Monday are fertile hunting grounds for scammers, and the likely victims will be Generation Z scouring the net for incredible bargains.
Australia’s consumer watchdog’s Scamwatch has received more than 12,000 reports of online shopping scams, with about $7 million in losses this year.
People aged 24 and under have been stung the most buying products such as phones and computers.
Australian Competition and Consumer Commission deputy chair Delia Rickard said it wasn’t just websites that shoppers needed to be wary of on Black Friday (November 27) and Cyber Monday (November 30).
