Severe storms cells barrel towards Queensland south-east coast
Two severe storm cells have been picked up on radar as they head towards the south-east Queensland coast and the weather bureau expects to see more into Tuesday evening.
The Bureau of Meteorology issued a severe thunderstorm warning just after 2.30pm, with one cell crossing the NSW border near Stanthorpe and the other moving east towards the Sunshine Coast.

Meteorologist Peter Markworth said the weather bureau was warning of the potential for damaging winds, large hailstones and heavy rain in the state’s south-east.
