Video from divers, anglers to be used for biggest Barrier Reef snapshot

“When you take photos and other data from the reef, often you’re well out of range of the internet, and you have to wait, sometimes hours, until you’re back in a network area,” Mr Ridley said.
“The problem we were having was that people would arrive back and then get distracted and not upload them, if they’re working they have things to do, and if they’re a tourist they go to their hotel or the pub.”
The group went to technology company Dell to devise a solution which could take on a lot of data but also be tough enough to operate under sometimes extreme conditions.
