Previously, cases were recorded to the address a positive patient had registered with the NHS – but details given at the time of testing will now be used
The way positive coronavirus cases are being recorded has changed.
Previously, cases were assigned to local authorities based on the address a covid-19 positive patient had recorded with the NHS.
So if someone was registered with the NHS to an address in Stockton, for example, but was living in Middlesbrough, a positive test they took would be recorded in Stockton’s figures.
