QLD border restrictions ‘force’ Movie World and Wet N Wild to axe 500 summer jobs

One of the Gold Coast’s largest theme park operators has announced it won’t be recruiting for the summer, blaming Queensland’s uncertain borders.
Village Roadshow Theme Parks, which owns Movie World and Wet N Wild, says more than 500 prospective jobs will be lost due to the decision.
CEO Clark Kirby says he is “extremely disappointed by the poor communication of the Queensland government”.
“Our recruitment depends on the border opening,” he said.
