The Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) has confirmed Queensland Labor (ALP) did not breach strict federal laws at the last state election.

Earlier today, Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk rejected allegations made in media reports the party had misused electoral data by sharing personal information of voters with unions.

NewsCorp reported the AEC was investigating allegations the ALP provided the Queensland Council of Unions (QCU) with people’s private details, such as names and contact numbers.

The publication said the electoral roll data, which is provided to political parties under strict privacy guidelines, was then allegedly used to target voters in marginal areas.
