Distressed joey found in Australia Post mailbox

A distressed joey has been rushed to a wildlife hospital after being rescued from inside an Australia Post mailbox.
A Queensland fire crew and an Australia Post employee came to the aid of the joey who had been dropped into a red street mailbox at Pimpama, a suburb on the Gold Coast.
An Australia Post representative said a customer heard noise emanating from the mailbox and called the Queensland fire brigade on Friday morning.
“A customer went to post something in the mailbox and then they have called the fire brigade and they have called us and that’s how we found the joey,” the spokeswoman told NCA NewsWire.
“Just as to how the joey ended up there we don’t know.”
