Charges upgraded after man dies a week after Valley assault

Two men are now facing more serious charges following the death of a man who was allegedly struck during an altercation in inner Brisbane.
Shannon Finmore died in hospital this week following injuries sustained during a confrontation with two other men in Fortitude Valley on Tuesday, November 3, police allege.
They say the incident occurred just before 9pm on Water Street, and the 37-year-old consequently fell and hit his head on the ground.
Harley James Raithby Hoodless, 29, and Michael Trevor Royce Collins, 28, were briefly mentioned in Brisbane Magistrates Court last Wednesday morning following their arrest the night before.
However, Mr Finmore died this week and police have now charged the pair with unlawful striking, causing death.
