Bendigo and Adelaide Bank dismisses protest vote – The Australian Financial Review
Managing director Marnie Baker says voting on her salary package made her uncomfortable but wouldn’t consider the result a protest.
The proposal was defended by Ms Hey who said neither the bank’s board members nor Ms Baker had received a fee or salary increase since 2018. The proposal was criticised by the Australian Shareholders Association which said the proposal was convoluted, unnecessarily complex and reflected poorly on the company, but ultimately supported it.
Ms Baker was noticeably uncomfortable while the vote was being conducted but appeared relieved afterwards saying the bank was unlikely to change its approach.
