IKEA Australia’s’ big blue boxes are turning green – The Australian Financial Review
IKEA is turning its Adelaide store into a clean energy power station, installing solar panels and back-up battery storage so it can feed into the grid.
IKEA Australia country manager Jan Gardberg said the ambitious project, 1.5 years in the making, was not aimed at creating a new revenue stream by selling power back into the grid but was part of IKEA’s global plan to achieve zero-net emissions by 2030.
