Virgin boss brushes off sacking rumours – The Australian Financial Review

Virgin Australia Group chief executive Paul Scurrah said he stood by his vision to keep Virgin as a high-end airline rather than target the budget market.

Media reports suggested Mr Scurrah had clashed with Bain, the airline’s new owner, about the business model for the future, wanting to steer away from going too downmarket.
Mr Scurrah, who is in the process of reviving the airline after it emerged from administration, said he stood by his vision of Virgin as a “high quality airline”.
Virgin Australia has shed 4000 jobs since it went into administration and the coronavirus pandemic. He plans to take 6000 jobs forward.
