One man in critical condition after alleged assault
A Gold Coast man is fighting for his life after he was allegedly punched by another man in the early hours of Monday morning.
Police said three people had been fishing at Southport when they returned to their car on Barney St at 12.10am, at which time a “verbal altercation” broke out between a 33-year-old from the group and 45-year-old man, a resident from a nearby unit complex.
Police said the resident came outside and the altercation “allegedly continued on the driveway”.
