Macquarie Bank overtakes ING as fifth largest home loan lender
Macquarie Bank has inched ahead of rival ING, becoming the fifth largest home loan lender in Australia. Monthly banking statistics released by the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) shows Macquarie’s total loan book value at the end of August stood at $51.61 billion, while ING finished the month at $51.46 billion.
ING and Macquarie both respectively hold 2.91 per cent of the total home loan lending market, which is still heavily dominated by the four major banks.
