Woman shot and Bribie Island locked down
A section of a Queensland island community is in lockdown as police hunt two men following the shooting of a woman in a Moreton Bay suburb.
The emergency declaration Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) on Bribie Island, north of Brisbane, comes after a woman was shot in Rothwell, about 30km north of Brisbane, on Thursday morning.
The men are believed to be holed-up in a house on Sylvan Beach Esplanade which is surrounded by heavily armed police.
