A Japanese airline has decided to do away with gendered language on its flights, dropping the well-known “ladies and gentlemen” from its vocabulary.
Japan Airlines (JAL) will soon transition to more inclusive language, using phrases like “attention all passengers” and “welcome, everyone” on planes and in airports.
Starting October 1, the changes are being implemented in a bid to boost inclusivity and diversity for those travelling with the airline.
