Premier Palaszczuk announced one new case, 2000 police

Queensland has recorded one new coronavirus case as it was announced more than 2000 new police would hit the beat over the next five years.
Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said the new COVID infection was a person in hotel quarantine and takes the number of active cases in the state to eight.
It comes after three new cases were recorded on Saturday, taking the total number since the start of the pandemic to 1157.
“We’re very pleased with that result,” Ms Palaszczuk said.
