There’s fresh hope a drug commonly used to treat diabetes may help slow dementia rates in older people who don’t have diabetes.
The six-year study in older Australians has made positive progression using the drug Metformin.
That study has since been halted by COVID-19.
Professor Katherine Samaras, leader of the Garvan Institutes Healthy Ageing Research Theme, explained more on 3AW Breakfast.
