The International Space Station has been forced to perform an avoidance maneuver to avoid a collision with space junk.
Hurtling through space at eight kilometres per second, the station was forced to boost thrusters to avoid the unidentified debris on Tuesday afternoon.
NASA said the debris only came to its attention at the last minute.
Because of the late notification of the possible conjunction, the three Expedition 63 crew members were directed to move to the Russian segment of the station…
