NRL: CEO Andrew Abdo says a gruelling shortened season is behind $12 million worth of talent being rested in the final round
NRL CEO Andrew Abdo has refused to rule out potential changes to the season format next year but defended clubs decisions to rest up to $12 million worth of player talent for the final regular season round. Melbourne Storm won’t field 12 regular first grade players, the Raiders nine and the Roosters and Panthers three each in a bid to freshen up for finals.
Some of the game’s biggest names will sit out this weekend, including Cameron Smith, Jack Wighton, Josh Addo-Carr, and Josh Papalii.
