Warm days and windy weekend for SEQ after outback drenching – Brisbane Times
Fire bans are in place for most of the state’s south into and beyond the weekend, when a dry and gusty change blows in on the back of above-average temperatures.
Bureau meteorologist Alex Majchrowski said residents could expect “some warm and sunny days until about Saturday”.
Brisbane reached a top of 31.4 degrees by 2.30pm on Wednesday, after dropping to 20.8 degrees overnight. Further west at Amberley, the mercury climbed to 34 degrees.
The “dry and gusty change” from Saturday is tipped to bring winds of 25-40km/h, peaking in the afternoon.
Temperatures could reach up to 6 degrees higher than average further west to Toowoomba and Gatton in the Darli…
