Australian share market inches higher after Friday’s big fall

The Australian share market inched higher after collapsing spectacularly on Friday on the back of a Wall St plunge many had argued was well overdue, but came nowhere near making up the 3 per cent lost in that session.The S&P/ASX200 closed 0.33 per cent higher at 5944.8 while the All Ordinaries Index added 0.35 per cent to 6129.9.
CommSec analyst Steve Daghlian said bargain hunters may have pounced after Friday’s fall, which was the local market’s lowest level seen since May 1.
