Zillmere fire proves fatal as disabled woman dies in unit

A mostly bedridden woman died in a unit fire in Brisbane’s north.
Firefighters were called to the unit in Zillmere about 4.15pm on Monday afternoon on reports of thick smoke billowing.
It was extinguished about 15 minutes later.
But crews entering the villa found that a 59-year-old woman was inside and died.
It’s understood she had a disability and lived alone at the unit.
