Young man fatally stabbed in north Queensland, murder inquiry launched

A homicide investigation is under way in north Queensland after a 20-year-old man was stabbed in the stomach on Sunday.
It is alleged the local man was walking along Mcilwraith Street in Ingham, about 95 kilometres north-west of Townsville, with two women about 11.30pm, when a man approached.
An argument broke out between the two men and the young man was stabbed in the stomach.
Police provided first aid at the scene, before paramedics rushed the man to Ingham Hospital in a critical condition. He was declared dead at 12.40am on Monday.
A crime scene was set up and the search continues for the male attacker.
