Young gun’s freakish last-second try seals back-to-back Super League titles for St Helens – Wide World of Sports
‘Thurston’s golden point … times it by a billion’

A freakish last-second try from youngster Jack Welsby has given St Helens back-to-back English Super League titles in a thrilling Grand Final.
Welsby’s try came just seconds after the full-time hooter had sounded with the scores tied at 4-4 between St Helens and Wigan.
St Helens looked to have botched their chance to clinch the game after Tommy Makinson’s drop goal on the hooter hit the post, but what happened next is something that will haunt Wigan fullback Bevan French.
