There has been a “worrying decline” in people attending important cancer screening appointments in Plymouth during the coronavirus pandemic.
Plymouth GP DR Shelagh McCormick is encouraging anyone who is invited to a smear test to book an appointment.
Each year, around 850 women die from cervical cancer and 99.8 per cent of those cases are preventable, which is why a smear test is so important.
