World No.1 Barty pulls out of doubles – The Age
Ashleigh Barty has withdrawn from her Australian Open doubles commitments at Melbourne Park.
Bartys team later confirmed the move was entirely precautionary.
Shes fit and raring to go, said Bartys manager Nikki Mathias.
Barty has reached at least the doubles final at each of the sports four majors, and partnered CoCo Vandeweghe to the US Open title in 2018.
The Queenslander, who won the Yarra Valley Classic lead-up event last week, will now focus entirely on singles, with her next assignment against the seeded Ekaterina Alexandrova on Saturday.
