Woolworths takes on banks with payments platform Wpay – The Australian Financial Review
Fourteen years after establishing its own payment processing system, Woolworths has launched Wpay, a stand-alone payments business open to third parties.

Woolworths is the fifth largest processor of card payments in Australia after the big four banks, settling more than $50 billion of payments and more than 1.3 billion transactions a year.
