Woolworths puts supply chains to the test after locking out workers in pay dispute – Sydney Morning Herald

The supermarket giant has reshuffled its supply chains across NSW to keep stores stocked after locking about 500 striking workers out of a key warehouse.

Woolworths and the union have been negotiating for four months over pay and conditions for the site. The union wants pay rises of up to 20 per cent over two years to take the Wyong workers up to the same pay rates as their counterparts in some of Woolworths’ Sydney warehouses. It also wants changes to “pick rates” the number of items workers have to fetch each hour.
The company is offering pay rises of 3 per cent a year for more junior workers and 2 per cent for more senior staff for three year…
