Panic buying has returned to some Melbourne supermarkets as residents of the Victorian capital begin their first week under Stage 4 coronavirus lockdowns.
A series of new photos, many taken on Tuesday morning, show empty shelves in the meat and fresh produce section of several Woolworths, Coles and ALDI supermarkets.
The alarming images come despite repeated calls for shoppers to buy only what they need.
