Woodside axes 300 jobs – The Australian Financial Review

The job losses at the oil and gas producer come after hundreds of contractor jobs went earlier this year after the oil price slumped.

The job cuts are just the latest that have devastated employment in the sector, including a reduction of about 25 per cent or 410 positions in Chevron’s Australian operations, also in WA. Japan’s Inpex Corporation, which runs the $US45 billion Ichthys LNG project in the Northern Territory, has also slashed jobs, as have Santos and Oil Search.
