Women’s sport is finally back on our screens this weekend, and not a moment too soon – ABC News
AFL and NRL stars are being lauded for saving their seasons. But if we are to protect the segment of sport driving the greatest growth in participation, we need to recognise women can hub too, writes Richard Hinds.
The resumption of the Super Netball season brings with it the novelty value of the controversial two-point shot and, as importantly, a welcome reminder: Women can hub too.
In the months since the major football codes spluttered back to life providing everyone join in “a welcome distraction”, women’s sport has been conspicuous by its absence from TV screens.
