Woman allegedly dragged from car before 7-hour chase ended in surrender
After driving through a number of northern suburbs and returning south of the Brisbane River, police successfully used a tyre deflation device on the car in Holland Park.
The man then allegedly fled the car and “attempted to steal another car, dragging a 63-year-old woman from it”, police said. The woman suffered minor injuries.
Returning to the BMW, and continued to allegedly drive dangerously to the final Runcorn address where he “barricaded” himself inside ahead of his surrender.
He has since been charged with burglary, receiving tainted property, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, unlawful entry of a motor vehicle, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and serious assault of a person over 60.
