Woman acquitted of assaulting police officer after court finds ‘excessive force’ used

A woman in Western Australia’s north has been acquitted of assaulting a police officer after a Broome magistrate found the officer had used “excessive force” before arresting her.
Vera Margaret Polly, 39, pleaded not guilty to assaulting a public officer in Broome on October 22, 2024.
