With no mentions of Donald Trump, Joe Biden declares the US is ‘back’ on the world stage. But which America?

Joe Biden says America is back. Does the world really need that?
The US President used his first major foreign policy speech — given virtually at the annual Munich Security Conference — to declare that “America is back, the transatlantic alliance is back”, without mentioning Donald Trump’s name once.
He outlined a long to-do list — salvaging the Iran nuclear deal, meeting economic and security challenges posed by China and Russia and repairing the damage caused by the coronavirus pandemic — to a warm reception from Western allies.
But which America are we talking about? The America that has supported despots and dictators for its own ends?
Let’s not forget in the past it has cozied up to the likes of Saddam Hussein and Muammar…
