With 24 hours until Queensland election day, has the LNP left it too late to release costings?
The LNP has produced a document that fulfils its political purpose — a set of numbers it can cite as evidence it will rein in debt without slashing the public service.
But in doing so, the Opposition has had to cede some ground.
Its “big, bold visionary plan” for the New Bradfield Scheme is more vision than plan.
Only $20 million has been allocated to a study into the mega-dam hydroelectricity/irrigation project, and the rest of the funding is probably contingent on developing new coal mines in the Galilee Basin.
