Why the Future Fund missed markets’ big bounce – The Australian Financial Review
The Future Fund’s 1.7 per cent return for 2020 speaks to its deep-seated concerns about monetary policy, geopolitics, the pandemic and the global economy.
But not always. A quick look back at its announcement of its 2019 return shows it wasnt shy about trumpeting the 14.3 per cent gain it delivered in that year.
At first blush, the Future Funds 1.7 per cent 12-month return looks weak compared with the 3 per cent return from the average balanced superannuation fund option and even the 2.4 per cent return from the average conservative super fund option.
