Why Oscar Allen ‘could’ve smothered’ match-winner if he’d shown the same intent on the mark as the Dogs – Fox Sports
Fox Footy commentators Leigh Montagna and David King have questioned whether young Eagle Oscar Allen showed enough intensity when manning the mark for Marcus Bontempelli’s, ultimately, match-winning goal.
Bontempelli on Sunday night produced a telling captains goal, nailing a long-range set-shot kick from beyond the 50m arc to give the Western Bulldogs back the lead over West Coast a two-point lead they would hold onto to claim a thrilling win.
But as pointed out by Montagna and King in Fox Footy Lab vision shown on First Crack, Allen may have let Bontempelli off the hook somewhat.
