Why bus driver attacks are rising
Reports of assaults on Brisbane City Council bus drivers almost doubled between November and December last year, with drivers allegedly being spat on, screamed at and even robbed by passengers.Bus drivers reported 81 physical and verbal assaults in December 2020 – almost double the 43 reports in November 2020 and the 48 reports in December 2019 – the majority of which were derogatory remarks, swearing and obscene gestures.
